JROTC Awards For 2014

Each year our chapter presents a MOAA medal, a certificate, and a monetary award to a JROTC Cadet at seven Pasco County High Schools.  The award recognizes leadership as well as academic achievements.  Pictures from the Anclote High School awards are shown below.

The recipient of the 2014 MOAA JROTC Award at Anclote was Cadet Major Siara Lugo. She is shown on the left with presenter John Motley.  Interestingly, John Motley had a picture taken with her at the same Awards Ceremony in 2012 when she was just finishing her Freshman year at Anclote.  That picture is in the center.  Fast forward two years later and she is now the incoming Battalion Commander for the Anclote JROTC Battalion and the recipient of the 2014 MOAA JROTC Award.

Also, the MOAA JROTC Award recipient in 2012 at Anclote was Cadet Taz Duncan, who was a Sophomore Cadet at the time.  He just concluded his Senior year as the Anclote JROTC Battalion Commander and is joining the Marine Reserve upon graduation.  He is shown on the right with John Motley.
